This policy explains what personal data we collect through rivedacookware.com, why, and your choices. It is written to meet the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
What we collect
- When you order: name, email, mobile number, delivery address, order details and an optional delivery note.
- Payment: handled entirely by Razorpay. We receive only the payment status, a payment reference and the method used (for example "UPI" or "card"). We never receive or store card numbers, CVV, UPI PINs or bank passwords.
- When you log in to My orders: your email address. If you choose "Continue with Google", Google shares only your name, email address and a Google account ID with us — never your password, contacts or other Google data.
- WhatsApp updates: if you leave "Send me order updates on WhatsApp" ticked at checkout, we send your order confirmation, shipping and delivery updates to your mobile number through WhatsApp (Meta). Untick it to get updates by email only.
- Payment reminders: if you place an order but do not finish the payment, we may email you about an hour later and once more the next day (and send one WhatsApp message if you left the WhatsApp tick on) with a link to pay for the same order — at most two reminders in 7 days. If the payment failed or you tried more than once, someone from our team may call or WhatsApp you to help. Every reminder email has a link to stop payment reminders.
- When you follow the blog: your email address. We first send one email asking you to confirm; after that you get one email a week with new articles. Every email has an unsubscribe link that works in one click.
- When you enquire: the details you enter in the contact form or send us on WhatsApp or email.
- When you browse: your cart is kept in your own browser (local storage) and is not sent to us until you check out. We use Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics to understand how the site is used (pages viewed, device type, approximate location); these set cookies.
Why we use it
- To process, ship and support your order, and to send order and delivery updates;
- To issue invoices and keep the accounting and tax records the law requires;
- To answer enquiries;
- To prevent fraud and keep the site secure;
- To improve the site and our products, using aggregated statistics.
We do not sell your personal data. We send marketing messages only if you ask for them, and you can stop them at any time.
Who we share it with
Only with the service providers that help us run the shop, and only what each needs:
- Razorpay (payments);
- The courier, transport or delivery partner carrying your parcel (name, phone, address);
- Cloudflare (website hosting), Supabase (order database, hosted in Mumbai), Resend (order and blog emails), Google (analytics and, if you choose it, Google login), Meta / WhatsApp (order updates, if you choose them);
- Our accountants, and government authorities where the law requires.
How long we keep it
Order and invoice records are kept for at least 8 years, as tax law requires. Enquiries are kept for as long as needed to respond and follow up. Abandoned checkout details are deleted after 12 months. If you unsubscribe from the blog, we keep only your email address marked as unsubscribed, so we never write to you again.
Security
The site runs only over HTTPS. Order data is stored in a database that the public cannot read, and access is limited to the people who fulfil orders.
Your rights
You can ask us to show, correct or delete your personal data (subject to records we must keep by law), or withdraw consent for any optional use. Write to support@rivedacookware.com. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
Children
The shop is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 18.
Changes
We will post any changes on this page with a new "last updated" date.
